Slatina Spa
If you move from Banja Luka direction via newly-build bridge not far away from Banja Luka brewery, a narrow winding asphalt road will lead you to the Slatina Spa. There you will find natural springs of thermal mineral water on a hilly terrain at 206 m above seal level and only 15 km away from downtown of Banja Luka. The surrounding of the Slatina Spa is extremely pleasant for relaxing and going for walk in nice parks.
The Slatina Spa functiones as organization part of the Institute for physical therapy “Dr Miroslav Zotovic”, a highly specialized medical institute which deals with treatment and rehabilitation of sick and injured persons. Physical treatment and rehabilitation include all pathological states of patients of all ages from babies, children, youth and adults and very old persons. Costs of treatment and rehabilitation of patients are covered by the Fund of medical insurance of Republic of Srpska.
Even old Romans used the thermal waters of the Slatina Spa. The building of spa facility and utilization of the water for medical purpose began in Austrian –Hungarian empire in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1888, professor E.Ludwig made a first scientific and research analysis of the thermal water of the Slatina Spa.
